While repeating the Loving Kindness exercise I found that I
have already thought of this within my heart however, repeating it let me know
that I am a good person for doing so.
The area of growth and development I need to work on is the
mental fitness. I lack the ability to control the running thoughts within my
mind and I would like to grab a hold of it so I am not running negative
thoughts within it when I should be thinking positive or nothing at all.
Some exercises I can do to help foster greater wellness is
by doing the mental fitness exercise as well as the centering prayer by
thinking of one word over and over again to help me control on thinking just
one thought rather than 10 at a time.
Donna it's great things are working out for you and focusing. Practice is the ultimate goal to get there. Mental fitness I think is harder than physical fitness. The mind is got to want to do it for the body to react or respond. Good luck.

Hello Donna,
ReplyDeleteI think that it is a great idea to focus on one word at a time. I have a hard time myself when I need to focus. I have way too many things going on in my life right now to focus. When this calm down I would like to be able to meditate and take up yoga because I do believe that I ones mental health is just as important as ones physical health. I also agree with the comment before that one has to be mentally stable for them to be able to work on their physical health. You mind has to be on board in able to maintain a physical program. Nice post!
Donna,
ReplyDeleteI really like the loving kindness exercises they have helped me with my meditation that i have started with this term I have been less stress, more refreshed and relaxed .The only thing I didn't like was there was no audio for this exercises instead of reading and doing it was harder for me.
Hello Donna!! I think every person can relate to your post when reflecting upon their own lives at one point or another. I especially can relate to having tons of things going on in my life and trying to find the appropriate balance between our thoughts & maintaining a healthy mental life. I have found that forcing myself to immediately think the opposite of whatever negative thoughts arise has helped me overcome feelings of anxiety and fear. I've also found that it's an everyday struggle to battle the mind and the stressors of the world.
